Kristian JON LARSEN
Born in 1982, lives and works in Copenhagen
Kristian Jon Larsen explores the interplay between raw and transformed materials to express his emotions and feelings. Through ceramic sculptures and steel installations, he creates works that blend personal associations with historical references.
The choice of materials is central to his artistic approach. The contrasts of colors, light, and textures play a key role, whether in delicate small-scale sculptures or large, imposing structures. Before beginning each project, the artist carefully theorizes the structure of his works. However, once the creative process is underway, the materials assert their own character, establishing a balance between intention and spontaneity.
Kristian Jon Larsen’s works reflect this duality: the roughness of the raw materials contrasts with the artist’s sensitivity and delicacy, revealed through the carefully refined surfaces. Each piece becomes a meeting point between the strength of the material and the intimate expression of the artist.
