Performance of Brent Birnbaum

In the exhibition “The Best Show Ever,” Brent Birnbaum’s photographic series “Birthday Boys” is presented. On the occasion of his birthday, the artist had himself photographed nine times alongside Geoffrey, the mascot of the toy store chain Toys “R” Us, who was celebrating his birthday on the same day.
After the company’s bankruptcy, Birnbaum acquired one of the costumes. Having become an unemployed mascot,
he wanders through downtown Nuremberg on Saturday afternoon, appearing at various landmarks until he reaches the Kunsthalle Nürnberg at around 4 p.m.
The event takes place as part of the finissage weekend of the exhibition “The Best Show Ever.”
