The works on canvas presented for this exhibition are “human presence”. It is measured by the multitude of nuances of our daily life that we can travel through the dancing fog of the journey of our lives.
The surface of the canvas at Dominique Funes offers a stormy journey to the confines of a canopy sown with vital energy. Beyond this upper layer, evergreen plants, groves, branched foliage wander in the distance. This swarm of “great woods” transports us beyond an ecotone and joins the bark of a nomadic line. Can we approach the reality of the artist through what seems to appear these mirages of the moment:
– Cabins
– Characters
– Antlers?
Subtle alluvial masses of water and paint flood us with transparency, a cabin is revealed, a line with light branches offers the wonders of Canopus, the imaginary night reveals the birth of shared images, the shadows invade us with a buzzing reforestation, and despite these thousand differences this breath of plant horn leads us to the artist’s revisited canopies.
