Following the bankruptcy of Toys “R” Us, Birnbaum acquired one of the costumes of the famous mascot of the toy store chain.
Now an unemployed mascot, the giraffe leaves its familiar environment to wander through the streets of Nuremberg, Germany, as part of the performance “Lost Giraffe.”
Galerie PJ presents photographs taken during the performance, as well as a short film directed by Byon, based on footage shot during the performance. The film extends the performance and reinforces its message, giving it a particularly powerful and striking dimension.
