Nicola De Maria
토리노에 거주하는 니콜라 데 마리아는 1978년 아킬레 보니토 올리바가 이론화한 이탈리아 트랜스 아방가르드의 창립 멤버 중 한 명이지만 산드로 치아, 프란체스코 클레멘테, 엔조 쿠치, 미모 팔라디노 등 다른 그룹 대표들과 달리 주로 추상주의와 캔버스의 한계를 극복하고 주변 공간과의 관계를 맺는 회화적 접근법에 집중해 작업해 왔습니다. 그는 항상 밝고 강렬한 원색으로 그려진 유쾌한 추상화로 유명하며, 소규모 작품과 벽 전체를 덮는 작품 모두에서 관객의 감성을 자극하는 수단으로 활용되는 경향이 있습니다. 그의 작품은 세 차례의 베니스 비엔날레(1980-1988-1990), 카셀의 도큐멘타 7, 제16회 상파울루 비엔날레, 제4회 시드니 비엔날레, 로마 쿼드리엔날레(2005-2012)에서 전시된 바 있습니다.
