Les interrupteurs (The switches)
A micro dissidence on the place of the artwork.
Positioned next to a door, without engaging a competition with a swith that is already installed, the plaster, associated or not to the color of the wall or the wallpaper, will pass as a regular object to the visitor’s eyes, but never to its collector.
Evidently, the intentionality of making art reveals the identity of its creator & as it happens, underlines with lightness a confessed dissent from Marie France Uzac.
In her work where the volumes are classically shown on pieces of furniture or on a stele, their presence will be discreet but rich.
The switches as multiple, are ideal to adjust and play with the notion that the art work is not a spectacle.
The slimmer the pieces of Marie France Uzac will be present but discreet, the denser will be their impact on people’s intimacy.
