The exhibition is dedicated to two artists who propose a form of resistance to the contemporary world through sensibility.

Pia Jaeyoon KIM works with wool using the needle-felting technique. Her slow, repetitive gesture gradually builds up the material, giving rise to forms filled with softness and delicacy. His practice embodies an aesthetic that explores and rehabilitates a feminine, affective approach, in opposition to the frenetic pace and hyper-efficiency of our times.

Stephen Swindells explores oil painting. His regularly meditative brushstrokes and intimate relationship with pigments allow presences and apparitions to recompose themselves through our eyes. Here, intimacy confronts figures of power, stripped of their authority, as the artist reveals their shadows and doubts, a space where domination is silently deconstructed.

At galerie PJ, in conjunction with the exhibition “Soft Powers”, these two artists assert the importance of emotional intelligence and a sensitive viewpoint rooted in a feminine prism, a balance to the polarization of our societies. Their approach proposes a different path: that of rediscovering a sense of time, intimacy and emotion.
