Technological Revelation: New Reality
Alx LE
25.January. 2025 – 22.Febuary.2025
Axl Le is a Chinese multimedia artist born in 1989, now based in Norway. He explores various means of expression, including cinema, 3D animation, artificial intelligence and video games. Trained in architecture, he soon realized that this discipline did not correspond to his mode of expression. After gaining experience as a creative assistant and puppet designer, he embarked on a personal journey marked by technological and narrative experimentation.
His work addresses major themes such as technocriticism, the exploration of self-identity and science fiction. Through these themes, he questions the impact of media and technology on contemporary society. An avid fan of video games, particularly Warcraft, Axl Le draws much of his inspiration from immersive, digital worlds, which he sees as ideal spaces for reflecting on the relationship between humans and technology.
In 2016, he turned to film and specialized in short films, an ideal form for telling complex, immersive stories. With the rise of artificial intelligence, he integrates this technology into his creations to save time and optimize his resources. His short film Joseph’s Midnight Party is a perfect illustration of this approach, depicting an oppressive digital world where addiction and media overload merge with reality.
Axl Le’s work has been shown on prestigious platforms such as NOWNESS Asia, VideotageHK, Videoclub UK, CIFRA and Arte Tracks. He has also exhibited his work at renowned institutions and events, including Art Basel HK, Loop Barcelona, Microclima Venezia, Siggraph, MAO Torino, CICA Museum, Tank Shanghai and the Himalayan Center Shanghai.
Axl Le is also passionate about music. After ten years of classical piano and experience in a rock band as a teenager, he sees music as a source of emotions and an essential key to his creative process. It fuels his ideas and guides his work.
